These Terms & Conditions set out the agreement between Owlsight Fire & Security Ltd (“we”, “us”, or “our”) and the customer (“you”, “your”) for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of fire, security, and safety systems.
By agreeing to our quotation or booking our services, you accept these terms in full.
1. Scope of Work
1.1 Owlsight Fire & Security Ltd provides installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of fire detection systems, emergency lighting, extinguishers, CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control systems.
1.2 Our services ensure that your systems remain safe, reliable, and compliant with current British Standards.
1.3 We will always carry out our work with care and professionalism using qualified and experienced engineers.
2. Inspections and Maintenance
2.1 Maintenance and inspection visits are carried out at agreed intervals as per your service schedule.
2.2 After each visit, we will provide a report or certificate summarising any actions or recommendations.
2.3 Any repairs, parts, or additional labour not covered in your maintenance plan will be quoted separately.
2.4 Our work covers normal wear and tear; damage caused by misuse, vandalism, or third-party interference is not included.
3. Emergency Callouts
3.1 We aim to provide a prompt response to emergency callouts and prioritise customers with maintenance agreements.
3.2 Response times may vary depending on workload and location.
3.3 Emergency attendance is subject to our standard callout rate unless covered under a contracted agreement.
4. Customer Responsibilities
4.1 You agree to provide reasonable access to all system components and areas where work is required.
4.2 You must inform us of any site restrictions, hazards, or known system issues before our visit.
4.3 It is your responsibility to ensure that your property remains insured and that our work does not replace the need for your own insurance cover.
5. Payment Terms
5.1 Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all invoices are payable within 14 days of issue.
5.2 We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue invoices at 5% above the Bank of England base rate per month.
5.3 Ownership of any goods or equipment supplied remains with Owlsight Fire & Security Ltd until full payment is received.
6. Liability
6.1 While every effort is made to ensure all work is completed safely and correctly, we accept no responsibility for indirect or consequential loss caused by system failure, false alarms, or misuse.
6.2 We will not be liable for any delay or failure in performance due to events outside our reasonable control (including weather, supply chain issues, or access restrictions).
6.3 Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
7. Communication
7.1 We may contact you via email, phone, or text message to arrange visits, send invoices, or provide updates.
7.2 By agreeing to our services, you consent to this form of communication.
7.3 Your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
8. Fair Use & Additional Charges
8.1 If repeated callouts occur due to user error, misuse, or third-party faults, these visits may be chargeable.
8.2 Replacement parts, batteries, or upgrades not included in your maintenance contract will be quoted and billed separately.
8.3 All quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
9. Termination
9.1 Either party may terminate this agreement with 30 days’ written notice.
9.2 Outstanding balances must be cleared before the agreement can be fully terminated.
9.3 Owlsight Fire & Security Ltd reserves the right to suspend services in the event of unpaid invoices or repeated missed appointments.
10. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
