We reserve the right to suspend or restrict access to the website where reasonably necessary.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that information on our website is accurate and up to date.
However, website content is provided for general information and may occasionally contain errors, omissions or outdated information.
Information about products, services, pricing, availability, response times and specifications may be changed without notice.
A description of a service on our website does not constitute a binding offer to provide that service.
A contract for services will only be formed once a quotation, proposal, service agreement or other written agreement has been accepted by both parties.
Owlsight provides fire and security services including, but not limited to:
The exact services provided will depend upon the quotation, service agreement or other written agreement issued to the Client.
Unless otherwise stated in writing:
No additional work will normally be undertaken without the Client's approval, except where reasonably necessary to make a system safe or prevent further damage and the Client has authorised such action.
Our prices and payment terms will normally be confirmed in the relevant quotation, invoice or service agreement.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
Where an agreed maintenance contract contains specific payment terms, those terms will take precedence over these website Terms and Conditions.
Call-out charges will depend on the service agreement or quotation applicable to the Client.
Where no alternative pricing has been agreed in writing, our standard labour rates may apply.
Normal working hours are generally: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00, excluding bank holidays.
Any out-of-hours, weekend or bank holiday attendance may be subject to an increased labour rate.
Any response time stated by Owlsight is an attendance aim rather than a guaranteed response-time SLA, unless a separate written agreement expressly states otherwise.
Response times may be affected by traffic, weather, engineer availability, location, access restrictions, the nature of the fault and other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where we provide planned maintenance services, the scope and frequency of servicing will be stated in the relevant quotation or maintenance agreement.
Maintenance may include inspection, testing, fault identification, functional checks, recording of defects and preparation of service documentation.
Unless expressly included within the agreed service, the following may be charged separately:
The Client, property owner, occupier or other legally responsible person remains responsible for complying with applicable fire safety legislation and for ensuring that appropriate fire safety arrangements are in place.
Our servicing or maintenance of a fire alarm or other safety system does not, by itself, constitute a fire risk assessment, fire strategy or confirmation that the premises complies with all applicable fire safety legislation.
Where appropriate, our work may be carried out with reference to relevant British Standards, including BS 5839-1 and other applicable standards.
Unless expressly agreed in writing, we do not provide fire risk assessments, fire strategy documents or general fire safety management services.
The Client must provide safe and reasonable access to the premises, equipment and areas necessary for us to carry out the agreed work.
Where access is unavailable or unsafe, we may be unable to complete the work and additional attendance or charges may apply.
The Client must inform us of any known hazards, restrictions, access requirements or site-specific procedures before attendance.
Where we identify defects or deficiencies during servicing, inspection or attendance, these may be recorded in our service report or other documentation.
Unless covered by the agreed service, remedial works will be quoted or charged separately.
The Client is responsible for deciding whether and when recommended remedial works are undertaken, unless the works are required under a separate agreement.
We cannot accept responsibility for consequences arising from a defect where the Client has been informed of the defect and chooses not to undertake the recommended remedial work.
We may service, maintain or work on equipment manufactured or installed by third parties.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, we do not guarantee the continued availability, compatibility, performance or support of third-party equipment, software, monitoring services, communication networks or associated systems.
Where a fault is caused by a third-party service provider, telecommunications network, monitoring centre, internet connection or other external system, additional charges may apply.
Monitoring, Alarm Receiving Centre services, SIM cards, signalling equipment, data services, telephone services and other communication subscriptions are not included unless expressly stated in writing.
Such services may be provided by third-party suppliers and may be subject to their own terms and conditions.
Cancellation terms will depend upon the type of service and whether the Client is a consumer or business customer.
Where a service appointment is cancelled at short notice, we reserve the right to charge reasonable costs incurred as a result of the cancellation.
For maintenance agreements and longer-term contracts, the termination provisions contained within the relevant agreement will apply.
Where you purchase services from us as a consumer, you may have additional rights under UK consumer protection legislation.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude or restrict any statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
Where consumer legislation provides you with a right to cancel or other statutory protection, those rights will apply.
Where services are supplied to a business customer, the agreed quotation, service agreement or contract will govern the commercial relationship between the parties.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, business customers are responsible for ensuring that the premises are accessible and suitable for the agreed works.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
Subject to that:
For business customers, any specific limitation of liability contained within a signed service agreement or contract will take precedence over this section.
Fire alarm, intruder alarm, CCTV, access control, emergency lighting and other security systems are designed to provide detection, warning, monitoring or protection.
